VITEEE: Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam

The Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore conducts the Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam commonly known as VITEEE for admission to various Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), science, management and other programs. Other than the undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses, the students can also opt for the dual degrees and part-time programs.

VITEEE Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must fulfill certain eligibility criteria for getting admission in Vellore Institute of Technology. Given below is the list of all eligibility criteria for VITEEE
  • The candidates must firstly be a citizen of India or a non-resident Indian (NRI).

Educational qualification for VITEEE
  • The candidate should atleast score a minimum of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in 10+2 or other equivalent examination.

  • For candidates belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST, students from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura) must score a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/PCB) in 10+2 or other equivalent examination.

  • Candidates with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) combination of subjects are only elifible to apply for B.Tech. Bio-Medical engineering and Biotechnology programs. They can also apply for the B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering (Bioinformatics) programme, provided that they register for a bridge course in Mathematics after joining.

  • For candidates with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) combination can apply for all the 14 B.Tech. Programs.

  • Those candidates who are appearing for the 10 plus 2 examinationare also eligible to apply for VITEEE.

List of qualifying exams

  • The candidates must have done their 10 plus 2 conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), State Board or The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi).
  • Two-year Pre-University Examination or Intermediate conducted by recognized Board/ University.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
